As the flagship project for Dongping's cultural tourism upgrade, New Song Dynasty Night City has quickly become a new hotspot for nighttime cultural tourism consumption in Shandong since its reopening. Leveraging immersive Song Dynasty market experiences and Water Margin-themed offerings, it attracted 41.7 million visitors during the Spring Festival holiday, with social media exposure exceeding 6.3 billion impressions. To address the surging visitor pressure, the scenic area launched an intelligent crowd analysis and management system.

Accurately sense foot traffic across all scenarios to solve pain points in high-volume operations.
As an open cultural tourism district with scattered businesses and complex visitor flows, traditional manual counting cannot meet the demands of high-volume traffic. The system deploys AI-enabled cameras at park entrances/exits, key performance areas, and popular business zones to collect real-time foot traffic data across the entire area. It accurately counts real-time occupancy and entry/exit volumes per zone and automatically generates visitor heat maps.
During peak travel periods such as Labor Day and Chinese New Year, the system automatically triggers tiered crowd control alerts based on the scenic area's maximum capacity. When core areas approach saturation, the platform immediately notifies operations staff, integrating with entry ticketing systems and peripheral traffic management to activate diversion plans early, effectively preventing overcrowding in specific zones.

Data-driven precision operations to unlock new growth in cultural and tourism consumption
The system automatically analyzes visitor flow paths, dwell times, and the distribution of popular photo spots. This helps operations teams gauge the popularity of different performances and business formats. Leveraging these insights, scenic areas can dynamically adjust performance schedules—adding more shows for popular titles during peak hours—and optimize store layouts based on visitor gathering patterns.
Visitors previously stayed in Song Dynasty Night City for an average of over 5 hours, spending nearly 87 yuan per person. Traffic analysis data provided critical support for these insights. The operations team reviewed the performance of each festival event using traffic data, calculated revenue efficiency across different zones, and continuously optimized the experience design of the "1+4+N" immersive performance matrix.

Coordinate with Shanh Lake Cultural Tourism layout to boost regional coordinated development
With the implementation of the "Mount Tai + New Daxing Song Night City" mountain-lake synergy model, free shuttle services and bundled ticket discounts have been launched between the two locations, driving a steady increase in cross-regional visitor traffic. The passenger flow system can integrate with scenic area ticketing systems and transportation dispatch platforms to receive real-time data on visitors diverted from Mount Tai. This enables scenic areas to forecast cross-regional peak flows in advance and coordinate with peripheral parking lots and dedicated bus routes to ensure smooth reception.
